Why am I having trouble setting up my Yahoo, Verizon, AT&T, or BellSouth email?

The installed Email app in the Cruz Reader has difficulty automatically authenticating with the Yahoo mail servers which are used for Yahoo, Verizon, AT&T, and BellSouth email account. The correct email server settings for manual setup are posted below for your reference.

Email Address: The email address must include both the alias (the part before the '@' sign) and the domain portion (ie: @yahoo.com, or @verizon.com, or @att.com, or @bellsouth.net).
Password: Your password

Select: "Manual Setup"

POP3, IMAP, or Exchange: IMAP
NOTE: The next two screens will need to match the settings provided below. The email setup wizard will automatically provide some information in the boxes on these screens (the wizard's way of guessing), but it is not valid and will need to be corrected.

Username: The username must be the full email address, including both the alias (the part before the '@' sign) and the domain portion (ie: @yahoo.com, or @verizon.com, or @att.com, or @bellsouth.net).
Password: Your password
IMAP server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 993
Security type: SSL
Delete email from server: Never

Press "Next"

NOTE: If you get an error message after pressing “Next”, carefully recheck the information , also try re-typing your password. If you are still getting an error, go into your tablet settings and make sure your Date and Time are correct.

SMTP server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 465
Security type: SSL
Require sign-in: checked
Username: The username must be the full email address, including both the alias (the part before the '@' sign) and the domain portion (ie: @yahoo.com, or @verizon.com, or @att.com, or @bellsouth.net).
Password: Enter your windstream.net Email password.

Press "Done"

If you continue to have difficulty setting up the preinstalled email client for use with your Yahoo account, you may use a 3rd party app as a work around. One that works well is Yahoo! Mail for Android, available for download in the Amazon Appstore.
